My sisters from Kentucky drove to Wisconsin and everyone gathered at Grandpa Wunderlin's house for an Easter picnic. Only half of the family was able to make it this year.
My sisters and I. Cassie, Amanda, Me, Amy and Nicki. This was supposed to be our funny faces picture. Amy yelled out, "Do a funny face" and then she smiled! I guess the joke was on us. My brother Daniel wasn't able to make the trip.

This year for an Easter craft we read about Jesus' resurrection in our Jesus Storybook Bible and made resurrection rolls. (Thanks for the idea Julia!) The rolls are pictured behind Austin.
Here is the idea:
Jumbo Marshmallow = Jesus
Butter, cinnamon and sugar = spices
Crescent roll= tomb
Take the marshmallow, dip it in butter and then roll it in the cinnamon and sugar mixture. Explain how Jesus' body was prepared for burial. Roll the marshmallow up in the crescent roll, pinch the sides and explain how they placed him in a tomb. To make it taste good we rolled the crescent ball in cinnamon and sugar too. Now bake in the oven and explain how for 3 days Jesus' friends thought he was dead. When they open their tombs they will be amazed that Jesus rose. It's a fun activity and one that was perfect for their age.

This was taken in the Moline airport on the way home. I just love watching them run through the airport with their backpacks on. They are pretending to shop for lunch here.
