Since I posted a video of Avery last week, I thought I would post one of Alia this week. She's just playing and having fun, but I thought it would be nice for those of you who haven't seen her in awhile.

So Proud
As a dad there are some things that I was excited to teach Avery. He has always been mechanical and interested in any project that I am working on but today he surprised me. Brandee and I were planting some plants and working along the side of the house. When we came back to the garage this is what we found.

I was impressed because I have never really taught him how to use my jack but he drug the 60lb thing out of the garage and balanced his bike on it. Even better was that he got out the jack stands and tried to put it under the tires to support it so he could take the jack out.

As much as boys can be rowdy, loud, crazy boys times like these make me so proud that I had a boy.
Here are a few more.

Line it up.

Lift it.

Nature's Rainbow
I saw this activity on a few different blogs last winter and wanted to try it with Avery once he showed an interest in color and could tell the difference. He liked helping color the egg carton before we went outside. Of course what he really wanted to do was destroy the carton while he was coloring it and poke holes in it. He also enjoyed closing the lid and shaking all of our items up.

Just color each cup with a different color and then walk around outside looking for things that match those colors. My favorite find was the brown caterpillar on the brown leaf.

He was quite excited when he found this leaf because it had a little black on it. That was the hardest color to find.

This is our happy dog. We finally put the underground fence in for her and she's loving it! (Minus the 2 shocks she got when she tried to go after another dog).

I don't want it......
Lately Avery has been telling us he is big and can eat things adults eat* so we thought it was time to introduce him to the warhead. Prepare for a laugh!
*According to Avery adults eat hot sauce, whole sandwiches, and asparagus and he says he can now eat those because he's big.

Outdoor Adventures galore!
We enjoyed our labor day weekend this year with a visit from Aunt Orla and Tony. We spent a lot of time enjoying the beautiful weather.

A typical shot of Avery these days since he hardly stays still long enough for a photo.

We enjoyed feeding the fish pieces of bread. We even spotted a small turtle who tried in vain to beat the fish to the bread.

Laura is showing her excitement for another geocaching adventure by frolicking.

This was my favorite hide. See if you can see where the cache is.

Avery loved hiking and looking for puff ball mushrooms he could hit and watch the dust fly.

We walked right by 2 fawns on our hike.

We enjoyed a free swim at the "waterpark". This is where we took you G & G Davis, maybe next time you can float down the creek.

Alia was enjoying the water as well.
