Pool Time

We thought we would take advantage of the nice weather and the small pool at our apartment complex this weekend. Avery enjoyed playing in his turtle. He wasn't too fond of the life vest. I don't think he liked being on his back.

The temporary move

We have moved to a new location this summer and I really like where we are! The lakes around here are beautiful and there are so many! Avery loves playing in the water and the sand. There is a beach only a few blocks from where we are so we go there almost daily. The move went well- it's fun to explore a new place. We enjoyed church at the Vineyard on Sunday. It was funny because we knew so many of the people there because they had moved from Duluth. It was nice to see familiar faces and visit with those we haven't seen in awhile. We've already been invited over to dinner (thanks Brett and Jessica, you're the best!) And Avery and I have a play date next week. Living in a one bedroom apartment has it's difficult moments- because the dog insists on barking every time she hears anything and that never goes over well when Avery is napping. As for Avery this last week- the move has gone well and he's slowly adjusting and finally accepting his new crib. He has finally started to crawl. I think having carpet has helped. I was reading a magazine on the floor a little ways from him while he was playing and the next thing I knew he was next to me trying to take the magazine. He also says duck and dog and gets excited when he sees both outside. I'll post pictures once I get them.

Happy Mother's Day

I just read that the primary caregiver loses 700 hours of sleep on average the first year of the baby's life. With that said, have a great Mother's Day!

At last a movie in a theater!

Last night Avery, Scott, and I went to a drive-in movie. It was so fun to be able to bring Avery with. He did a great job- he played until the movie started and then fell asleep and stayed asleep through two movies. Drive-ins are a great idea!

Great Day for a bike ride

When we left Superior, we said we would really miss the lake. That is still true, however there are some pretty lakes around here too. We spent the afternoon biking around one of the lakes with Avery in the Burley. He seemed to enjoy the ride and was excited when we got out to see the ducks.

And so it begins...

This morning I was folding laundry and Avery was sitting in the laundry tub like he does every time I fold clothes.


I left him there for a moment to put the towels away and found him like this....

He has also taken 2 or 3 steps alone, before he falls.
