They were supposed to be feeding the dogs. When Scott went out to the garage he discovered a trail of food. They told him they had created an obstacle course for the dogs to follow. Avery was laughing hard and Alia had her stance that says, "We rocked this!"
Alia is helping to make bagels. She loves helping us cook and will jump up on the stool anytime she sees us in the kitchen.
The other day Alia came out of the bedroom wearing Venus's E-collar as a skirt. The E-collar prevents dogs from licking themselves...Venus was trying to get at the staples the vet put in her knee.
What do you do in Georgia when it is really hot? Yep, sit in a bucket full of cold water. They spent the afternoon filling big tupperware containers with water. They had a lot of fun going through the recycling container and lining up various recyclables and watching the trail the water would take.
When I told Alia to get ready to go to Target, this is how she came out. Being the sensible girl that she is she decided it would be a good idea to bring more comfortable shoes should the fake plastic Cinderella shoes become uncomfortable.
The other day we took advantage of a warm down pour. She had so much fun putting things in the gutter and watching the water take it away. She also loved jumping and splashing me with water. It was a very memorable time and one I will always remember with her.
A friend gave her the frog rain boots and she was so excited to wear them!
Last weekend we caught them writing stories in Avery's room. Avery has been into art and drawing recently. He said that his art teacher called him creative. It is amazing how powerful words are because now he says he is a very creative boy and wants to keep drawing!
This weekend we discovered a whole system of mountain biking trails on the south side of PTC. It is roughly a 12 mile trail from start to finish. The town just got way cooler! We had so much fun exploring the trails. Avery was running everywhere to show Scott the next cool bike jump.
We found the perfect tree to climb!
Alia had her first sleepover at our house. The girls were so funny to listen to when they were in her room "trying" to fall asleep. At one point they had pulled all of the covers and blankets off both beds and were throwing stuffed animals and dolls back and forth.
Overall the transition to school has gone quite well. Avery and Alia are both in school. We are eagerly waiting for the cooler fall temperatures to be able to get out and explore more outdoors.
