First Chores

Avery was very quiet so I went to investigate. This is what he was up to.

Summer Days

I love this time of year for many reasons, one of them being strawberries. Nothing compares to a sweet, juicy strawberry picked off the vine. Every year Scott and I go to pick enough strawberries to make a years' worth of freezer jam. This year Avery got to be a part of the tradition. It was so much fun watching him pick the berry off the vine and then eat it. He was so pleased with himself. We ended up picking 15 pounds this year. I'm sure it would have been more but once Avery discovered my crate full, he no longer wanted to go hunting for his own.

Summer Shades

I actually found a pair of sunglasses he will keep on. You see, he can't get them off as easily because there is a band all the way around his head. Did I mention that they have 100% UVA and UVB protection?

Avery and Banana at 11 months!

He thought it was so funny to knock banana down every time I set him up. It was a challenge to get a picture before he would knock him over.

Crawling Machine

Avery is now crawling. He decided he would wait until he was really good at it. In this video he is very determined to get to the ferrets' cage. He loves looking at them and gets very excited when they poke their noses through the cage.

Eating Well

We picked up our CSA box on Saturday and have been enjoying the delicious food ever since. Our box was full of cucumbers, tomatoes and a tomato plant, scallions, lettuce, spinach, radishes, swiss chard, rhubarb, and fresh basil. We've had some great salads!

Our Family

This picture was taken during Mother's Day at our church in Wisconsin. They were taking free pictures for mom's and their families. We were also given a free cake so we had dessert for the day!

So Many Lakes...

Of course I knew Minnesota was the land of 10,000 lakes, but I really didn't think about it until we moved here. Just around the neighborhood I think there are 7 different lakes. Everyday we take a walk, we discover a new one. Most of them have houses around them with no access, but quite a few are county parks and Avery and I enjoy playing at the beach. When we walk to the county park near our house, Avery starts to hyperventilate with excitement when he sees the water and sand.
