Skiing Winthrop WA for New Years

This year we decided to check out the cross country ski trails near Winthrop Washington.  We skied the Methow trail system skiing Sun Mountain, Gunn Trail, and the Winthrop trails.  The trails were amazing and the dogs were allowed on some of them.  We had great weather and really enjoyed the snow.  This was the first year we were skiing in the mountains and we all enjoyed the views.  Our max elevation was 3,300 feet and we did 1,100 feet of climbing.  The first time down the mountain was scary but we all got better controlling our speeds by the end of the trip.

We stayed at Abby Creek Inn in Winthrop.  They have a sledding hill and tubes you can use.

East 20 pizza in Winthrop had great pizza and a warm fire to sit by outside.

2025

We visited Winthrop in 2017 to celebrate Avery's 11th birthday.  The town was great to visit in both summer and winter.
