Christmas 2018

We cut our tree down from Auggie's Christmas tree farm on Vashon again this year.

This is always a favorite Christmas morning.

 She got a  Hatchimal!

She carried it around all day.

 Excavating a bug

The best part is sitting among the chaos and enjoying a hot chocolate coffee while the kids play with their new treasures.

Christmas break means puzzle time!  This one has 1,000 pieces and has been fun to put together.

We headed to Plain/Wenatchee area in Washington for a few days to go play in the snow.  Santa got the kids the Clue game and we had fun playing it.

We cross country skied in Wenatchee state park.  There were really great, groomed trails for miles.

 And we are off!

It snowed the day before and the trees were beautiful.

He skied well but he also loved falling.

Trying to get up the hills doing the duck walk was a little more challenging but by day 2, he was getting the hang of it.

All ready to go on day 2.  We skied 3 miles on the second day and there was a lot less falling, me included.

 Sledding at the State park.

Snow angels and burying each other in the snow.

She enjoyed eating her fair share of snow.

We stopped for the evening to enjoy the Christmas lights in Leavenworth.

Around Vashon

It's been awhile since I've posted mostly because I share pictures from day to day on Instagram.  Since I am going to create the blog book again in January I thought I would share the pictures here for memory.
Stupid bike night on Vashon where anyone can decorate a bike and join the parade!

Vashon gathers its hops for Camp Colvos brewery.

A trip to the Tacoma zoo with friends.  It's always fun to feed the budgies.

Off to the Washington State fair with friends.

Enjoying homemade pies while celebrating Fischer Pond's anniversary.

Avery and Scott built a computer from recycled parts.

We visited a farm for fall festivities and really enjoyed the little pigs.

Vashon Fall is a pretty time of year.

It's always great to catch up with an old friend.  Thanks for riding the ferry on one of Vashon's foggiest nights in a long time.

Avery and Maia always enjoy play-dates with Clyde.

Watching a spider make a web is pretty spectacular.

Alia ran in the 4th grade turkey trot this year and placed in the top 10 girls.

The kids have really enjoyed trying to solve Rubik cubes.  This triangular one was pretty easy.

 Tiny cube!

 Girls day!

Keeping Vashon beautiful one bag full of garbage at a time.

Finding treasures at Granny's, our local thrift store is always fun.

Stingrays swim team having fun!

 Racing on a sting-ray.

Who can gather the most ducks?

We have the sweetest neighbor who always spoils us with homemade Thai food.

Grandma and Grandpa Davis came for a visit in November.  We were able to celebrate Grandma's birthday.

 Walking around Tacoma

Avery and Alia had fun playing games.  Slap was a favorite and fooseball was a close second.

 Walking at KVI

This year we made gingerbread houses and a turkey during Thanksgiving instead of Christmas.

 She loves to cuddle.

Every first Friday Vashon has an art walk.  These felted animals were really neat.

We made the paper for the Vashon Athletic club.

On Tuesdays Scott, Maia and I enjoy our trail runs, even when they are wet and swampy.

Fisher Pond was lit up again this year for solstice, it was a pleasant walk with friends.
