Thanksgiving at Cape Disapointment State Park

We were able to find a last minute site in the State Park to go camping in the rv.  It is a beautiful state park with miles of beach, 2 lighthouses, a fort and trails.  The first day we visited the beach it was covered in foam.  Some of the foam stacks were bigger than Luna and we were afraid we would lose her in the foam.

Luna and Maia loved running free on the beach.

Fort Canby is there and you can visit some of the buildings.
This lighthouse is the oldest functioning lighthouse on the West Coast.

There is a Jetty here where the Columbia river meets the ocean.  The full rock wall is a mile and a half.  We were able to walk all the way out.

The Discovery Trail runs through Long Beach.  We had fun biking the trail along the water.

Luna loved digging holes.

Avery dug her a huge circle trench that she would run around.
Climbing rocks with my mountain goat, Maia.

There were some cool mushrooms in the park.

Meet Luna

The kids have been asking for another dog for a few years.  On Sunday I told Alia she could finally have one but I gave her certain criteria.  She got to work looking for the perfect puppy for our family.  Once she found the perfect puppy she emailed the people and we set up a time to meet the puppy.  Luna is a chipoo which is half chihuahua and half miniature poodle.  She was born on September 19th.

Halloween 2020

Alia decided to dress up as a unicorn for her online classes.
Since Halloween was cancelled downtown this year, Camp Burton with the help of various businesses made a spooky, glow in the dark drive through.

Instead of trick or treating downtown this year we made our own trick or treating in the woods.  We hid glow bugs and sticks in the school forest and hid candy near them.  The kids ran through with a few friends hunting for candy.  They both decided to wear all black to be spooky and well hidden.

October Birthday Camping Weekend

Today was a beautiful day on Vashon.  We decided to explore some trails and go geocaching.  Our first stop was Point Robinson.  The cache was cleverly hidden among the driftwood.

We did creme brule in place of a cake this year.

 A wonderful gift from Alia.

Last weekend we went camping on Whidbey Island.  We had fun hiking around some of the lesser known parks in the area and went geocaching.

After geocaching we visited a local pumpkin patch and corn maze.  We had a blast playing hide and seek in the corn even if it was only knee deep in some places.

We had fun picking out pumpkins.
